When an incurable disease affects a child, it is necessary at the very moment of diagnosis to adopt a care model focused on palliative
care. This model proposes a multidisciplinary approach to the care to be provided, aimed at comprehensively addressing the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of both the sick child and their families, ensuring their maximum comfort and well-being. Hogar de arrullos is in this context, an intervention project whose objective is to improve the quality of life of pediatric palliative patients and their families, cared for by the psychosocial team of the Fundació d'Oncologia Infantil Enriqueta Villavecchia, through of music therapy, play and narrative; communication channels close to the nature of the child and facilitators of communication and expression of their internal world. This seeks to develop resilience processes at the family level that enable adaptive coping to adversity, reduce emotional discomfort and offer a space of support that facilitates the management of difficult emotions with emotional presence and availability.
