Pregnancy is a unique stage for many women that makes them experience various emotions and pleasant sensations, yet there is
also room for doubts and uncertainty in this process. For some years now, music therapy has been established as a discipline capable of meeting the needs of mothers during pregnancy, such as reducing stress and anxiety levels or strengthening the mother and child bond.
This study aims to design and implement a music therapy social project involving pregnant women to reduce their stress and anxiety levels and strengthen prenatal bonding. This proposal has been carried out at Escuela Municipal de Música y Danza Las Gabias, a town within the province of Granada. It has been developed through eight sessions which employed activities like singing, improvisation and active music listening. As a result, music therapy has been proved as an effective method to increase the well-being of pregnant women and their children, furthering their mental health care, and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
