Abstract

Human migration happens all over the world as people search for a better life. Many are forced to leave their home countries,
fleeing form wars, natural disasters, or abuse. Half of this people are women. After the migratory journey these women need
assistance to continue living with dignity and in a proper way.
The aim of this work is to create a Music Therapy intervention project at the MUF arrival center in Berlin-Reinickendorf, which will help and improve quality of life of just arrived refugee and asylum seeker women. The goal is to support these women in their transition after their journey or migratory flight towards their integration and inclusion in German society. Music Therapy sessions will be mostly a single session format, oneon- one or in a group setting. The Juliette Alvin and Nordoff-Robbins’s methods will be applied, using singing, songwriting, playing instruments and mindfulness techniques. The intention is to carry out this project in the future and to get positive results.
